Eight Kingston University Graphic Design (and photography) student were invited in to give a talk about what they had done since graduating.
Tim Brown - Film maker / Art director
James Titterton - Wolfe Ollins
Zoe Barret - YCN project manager
Alun Davies - Art director/Set Designer
Ella Collinge - Biblioteque
Mirelle Birk - BOB design/freelance
Ruby Steel - Master at RCA/ engineering
Paul & Danielle - This And That/DOT
Kieren Gallear - Music producer 'DELS'/teaching
Listening to these graduates, some rather recent, talk was inspiring mainly because of the variety of different things that they had all gone on to do. I pleasingly found myself attracted to each and every career path and made me feel more confident about finding something that i'll love doing after uni. All seemed very down to earth and easy to talk to, this is something that now doubt in someway or another helped them get to where they are now.
Something that I felt that was lacking, not just from this talk but nearly all alumni talks, is not how many placements or jobs they have had; but how they went about searching and applying for those jobs. This is something that im sure the tutors can help with, but I think hearing it from someone that has had to do it recently will provide a fresh insite.
